Vintage Floral Abstracts
I am a die hard thrift store shopper! And the reason is because over the years I have found a mass of treasures within the most unlikely places. The key is, know what to look for.
My love for vintage probably started right after college when I moved to Seattle. I shopped at this massive thrift store called Value Village where the vintage was always bright and in good condition.
Recently I have been working with the art form of color-blocking which is almost the complete opposite of vintage floral abstracts. They are similar in a way, because many textile designers in the 1960's were influenced by abstract and modern art they incorporated into their pieces. Art and fashion really do go together magnificently. Here are a few pieces I have been working on influenced by 1960's Abstract Floral prints. My medium is an APP called SKETCH that is free in any app store.
