The perfect tote

Jennifer Hopkins

For years I have wanted to create the perfect tote bag.  And I finally found a fabric warehouse in Atlanta that offers a huge variety of canvas, tweed, and pvc fabrics that offer structure, durability, and most of all ease.  I made this bag about two weeks ago with a tweed fabric and its great, but I am working on making it perfect!

The bag is constructed with a tight knit tweed fabric with a cotton backing for extra structure and lining.  This way no lining is needed. The bag handles are made with 3/4" straps that are about 26" long for maximum arm comfort.  The bag handles are a wonderful supple webbing.  The bag is foldable and packable and has two pockets.  Both pockets fit a good sized water bottle or umbrella.

Using webbing instead of leather cuts costs significantly by reducing the amount of labor, it also offers a completely vegetarian product.

The inside of a bag is just as significant as the outer layer.  Simplicity is key.  I have reworked this design and will be adding one more additional pocket and moving the key holder up so that your keys are easy to grab and place on the key snap.  Every girl needs large and long pockets.  We need our water  (water bottle pocket) and we do not want to get watered on (doubles as umbrella pocket as well)
